10 Bands You Should Know
We all have our favorite bands. The bands that we will continually listen to no matter what, but there comes a time when we all need to expand our musical horizon and listen to new bands. Well guess what, that time is now!
With the help of and thanks to Dash and a few other musicial inclined individuals at Y101, we've compiled a list of bands/artists that you should check out right now, because they are about to blow up.
1. Conditions
Richmond's own - Conditions has not only been on Dash's Y101 Community Service, they've been featured in Alternative Press magazine, Absolutepunk.net and Purevolume.com. Purevolume even named them #3 out of 20 on their top 20 Unsigned Bands of 2009.
Conditions has also headlined their own tours all over the country, plus opened for big names like they did during the Soundtrack of your Summer Tour in 2008. They played with Metro Station, Boys like Girls and Good Charlotte! Conditions has also toured with: Paramore, New Found Glory, All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, VersaEmerge, Cartel, There For Tomorrow, Good Charlotte, and Phantom Planet (Purevolume.com). They even hung out with Sludge during Show Us Your Cans this year and played a free show at Kroger!

2. Seabird
Seabird is soaring their way to the top with their newest release "Rocks into Rivers". These Cincinnati boys have been feature on everything from the front page of websites like Purevolume.com and AmazonMP3.com, tv shows such as "Greys Anatomy" and "Numb3rs", and their song "Rescue" was the theme song for the show "Pushing Daisies". Seabird is hitting the road hard with NEEDTOBREATHE after a string of sold out cd release shows.

3. Friday Night Boys
The Friday Night Boys may be the biggest band on this list, and you still might have never heard of them. They are signed to Fueled By Ramen, touring with All Time Low, appearing on MTV's TRL, being featured on major movie soundtracks, and they are from right up the street in Fairfax, VA. 4. Fireworks
Hundreds of bands have emerged recently wearing their New Found Glory influence on their sleeves, but few have done it with the style and catchiness of Fireworks. Fireworks work their way into your heart by mixing social commentary, wit, and hometown pride. Their upbeat
songs and quick fire lyrics are perfect for singing along with the windows down on a warm afternoon. Few bands get to tour with the bands that have heavily influenced them, but Fireworks is participating in NFG's 10 year anniversary tour coming to the National on Valentines Day.

5. Colin Healy and the Jet Skis
Currently featured in AP Magazine as a "Hometown Hero", Colin Healy and the Jetskis are quickly becoming Richmond's next big thing. Piano pop rock with catchy melodies and lyrics that will melt any girls' heart, catchy these boys in Richmond before they are selling out shows nation-wide. 6. City and Colour
An ever increasing number of music lovers stateside are falling in love with Canada's City and Colour. This side project of Alexisonfire guitar player Dallas Green is chock full of heartbreakingly honest love songs that reach the tender parts of anyone who is, has been, or
has fallen out of love. Dallas Green's first full length "Bring Me Your Love" is perfect for cuddling in front of fireplaces, breakups, and winter walks. Dallas will be bringing his sweet sounds to the 9:30 Club in Washington DC tonight.

7. Proverbial
Proverbial knows how to rocked the voted because they were our Y101 Rock Off Champion of 2009! They've played at the National with Paper Tongues, Cartel and Switchfoot as well as the Canal Club and have been featured on Y101 Community Service with Dash.

8. Dream Atlantic
If you are a fan of the heavier stuff, Dream Atlantic is one of the area's brightest young breakout bands. They even one of our Y101 Rock Off Semi-Finalists! Packed with a mix of emotional packed singing and screaming, Dream Atlantic will blast your ears out, and keep them ringing the next day. 9. A Newborn Thriller
From Newport News, VA, A Newborn Thriller has already opened for acts like Meg and Dia, The Almost, and Hollywood Undead. The guys are making a few line-up changes and currently writing a new full-length album. A Newborn Thriller bridges a hip-hop groove with a soulful rock sound. 10. Moshe Dayan
If you don't carefully listen to Moshe Dayan's lyrics, you might not realize that their songs preach a positive message.
