INDIANAPOLIS –

After a deadly bus crash involving children who were on their way home from camp Saturday afternoon, parents rushed to Colonial Hills Baptist Church.

The bus that crashed was part of a caravan of about 65 youth group church members traveling back from Michigan. The youngest children – fourth grade and younger – were on a yellow school bus. They were not injured.

The older children were on the bus that crashed. A married couple was killed in the crash, along with a teenager. Several teenagers were injured.

Parents were told to gather at the church at 8140 Chapel Hill Road for information. It’s a nerve-wracking time for many of them, since they don’t know their child’s status.

The deacon at the church told Eyewitness News says his own children were on the school bus, and were unharmed. But he knows for many other parents whose children were riding the bus that crashed, they are waited with bated breath to get some news.

At 6:15 pm, sheriff’s deputies were arriving at the church.
