   Oops; I meant..

The big gifts for Fathers Day are special outing and clothes.  The National Retial Federations 2010 Father’s Day Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey shows the nearly 40% of  of those honoring dad this weekend plan to take him out for brunch or dinner.  Just under 37% will add to dad’s wardrobe and spend $1.3B in the process.

Just over 30% will let their fathers pick out his own present and are expected to spend approximately $1.2b in gift cards.  Electronics, tools, appliances and car accessories are not among the “popular” list of gifts.

This was the kicker for me…only 27% of the wives are giving their husbands a gift.  Are buying a gift for your husband this Father’s Day?
