This past weekend I decided to take a trip to New York to see a few friends.  I had to laugh as soon as I got to the hotel and over heard a few guys talking about the Jets and how they screwed up their chance to make the Superbowl.  I walked pass with a big smile and said “Maybe next time….GO BLUE!” They asked if I was from Indianapolis and I said “Yep!”  I started to miss New York the first day I was there.  I went to the radio station that I use to work for WBLS to see some of my old friends including afternoon man Jeff Foxx who seems to have worked for every station in NYC.  I saw my old locker and almost cried like a baby!  I really started to miss the city when we went out to eat.  We ate a B Smith’s on 46th and 8th ave.  I had some great Soulfood! That is one of the things that I loved most about NYC…variety…great food, great restaurants, great people…EVERYWHERE!!!  We later went to an open mic night at a place called Groove where Monifah was the host and Toni Minaj sang lead.  The live band called The Block Party played all the jams from back in the day! Jill Scott, Earth Wind and Fire, Guy, etc! It was great! I just loved looking around the room and seeing all different types of people from Indian to Black to Italian to African just enjoying themselves and the music.  We stayed until 1AM and then I was sleeeeeepy! I missed that feeling too.

Got up the next day and had breakfast with a friend then went to get my nails done….I MISSED $8 MANICURES!!!! I really do! No really!  But I guess when you have 100 nail shops on one block the prices have to be competitive! LOL!

Why I Love Indianapolis More!

#1 I can get to work in 10 Minutes!
