An Apple Insider dug up a new patent application filed by Apple this week that suggests Apple's next magic trick might involve 3D head-tracking. That technology allows a computer to track a user's location and customize a visual 3D display based on that location, and involves the use of a camera. I am assuming that it would be kind of like Tom Cruise in the film Minority Report. But not as cool...yet. Apple's patent describes how using mice and keyboards to manipulate 3D objects on a computer screen aren't the most effective means of doing so, and suggests a new device for 3D head-tracking.

For singer Keri Hilson, getting famous took forever. Or at least, it felt like it. The Georgia-born singer, 27, spent years as a backing vocalist, sometime girl group member and songwriter, co-writing tracks for artists like Britney Spears ("Gimme More") and Usher ("Love in This Club, Part II") and generally hovering around the margins of the record industry. "It does feel like a long time," Hilson says now. "I'm reminded of it every day, when I see one of my peers who knows me from eight or nine years ago. It's a reminder that if you are diligent, you will be rewarded. It may not come easy, it may not come overnight."
