Prince has announced a new concert series called “Welcome 2 America.” In an appearance at the famed Apollo Theater, the music icon said he’d serve as Master of Ceremonies for the tour. There’s no word on exactly which cities the tour will go to, but Prince said the tour will start in December. He added that he has an all-star lineup of friends to accompany him, including sax great Maceo Parker, funkstress Janelle Monae, and longtime friends Sheila E and the New Power Generation. Prince said, quote, “bring friends, bring children, and bring foot spray because it’s gonna be funky.” He added that he’ll play a special guitar throughout the tour and then auction it off for charity.
