The winners at this year’s Soul Train Awards will finally be revealed this weekend. The event — which took place earlier this month — will air this Sunday on BET and Centric. R&B superstar Alicia Keys leads the list of nominees as the singer is up for four awards this year. Her hit single “Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready)” will compete for Song of the Year and Record of the Year. Keys’ album “The Element of Freedom” is up for Album of the Year, while she is also nominated for Best R&B/Soul Artist Female. Fellow R&B star Usher is also up for multiple awards. His hit single “OMG” is up for Best Dance Performance, while “There Goes My Baby” is competing for Song of the Year. Usher’s “Raymond vs. Raymond” album is up for Album of the Year, while he also looks to take home Best Male R&B/Soul Male. Following closely behind Alicia Keys and Usher is rap star Drake with three nominations. He’s up for Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year, Album of the Year, and Record of the Year.
The 2010 Soul Train Awards are hosted by Hollywood actors Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, and feature performances by Rick Ross, Cee-Lo and Keyshia Cole. The awards were handed out November 10th during a ceremony at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre.
