Packers vs. Bears: What Are Chicago and Green Bay Mayors Wagering in Title Game?

There’s a lot of history dating back to 1921 between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers.

Since then, both teams have become two of the most recognizable franchises in the NFL and have developed a big rivalry.

As is the game in the big sporting events, a friendly wager has been made between both football teams.

According to the Green Bay Press Gazette: “Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt and Chicago Mayor Richard Daley must be planning to work up an appetite, because the wager involves quite a bit of merchandise.

“If the Packers win, Daley has offered Chicago-style pizza, Mexican food, BBQ turkey legs, fried, baked and grilled chicken, 15 pounds of hash browns, corned beef and pastrami sandwiches, pierogis, stuffed pretzels and 25 pounds of Tootsie rollls.

“Daley insisted that many of his hometown products would arrive in Wisconsin without any cheese.

“If the Bears win, Schmitt will be relinquishing a case of (bear) steaks from American Foods Group, a three-pound chocolate football from Seroogy’s Chocolates, a case of Frozen Tundra Wine from Parallel 44 Vineyard and Winery, and a case of Spotted Cow beer from Pizzona’s Restaurant.”
