Ciara is opening up about rumors that she’s been released by Jive Records.

In a new Facebook posting, the R&B star says she’s actually the one who would like to end the relationship.  She writes, quote,

“It is true that I have asked and I pray that my label will release me.  I have had some great times and success with my label, but sometimes like all great things, its at that point where I feel we don’t share the same views on who I am as a artist.”

Ciara continues by saying her past two records have been “very frustrating,” noting that she’s spent thousands of her own dollars to support the projects, but hasn’t received support from Jive.

The “Ride” singer adds that a new label would allow her to work with people who care about her as an artist, and bring fans a, quote, “new music energy and a visual excitement.”

Ciara’s last release was 2010’s “Basic Instinct.”  The record debuted at number 44 on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 37-thousand.

“Basic Instinct” was Ciara’s follow-up to 2009’s “Fantasy Ride,” which opened at number three on the Billboard 200.
