According to The Shanghai Daily, a 17-year-old boy named Zheng from Huaishan City wanted a new Ipad2 but he couldn’t afford one. This teen in China decided to sell his kidney to an online broker.
The broker reportedly told the boy that he could get 22,000 Yuan nearly $3,400 US dollars for his kidney.
“I wanted to buy an iPad 2 but could not afford it,” said Zheng “A broker contacted me on the Internet and said he could help me sell one kidney for 20,000 yuan.”
Without asking permission from his parents, the broker arranged the boy to have the surgery on April 28 in Chenzou City to remove his precious body part.
When Zhang’s mother found out, she alerted authorities and an investigation is said to be ongoing.
The broker has yet to be arrested.
