Chrisette Michele had a free concert in New York’s Rockefeller Park this past Wednesday, making it an ideal way for many citygoers to close out their hump day.

As a longtime fan of Chrisette, it was an event I could not miss. The park was full of lawn chairs, picnic baskets and couples singing along to Chrisette, who sang a medley of singles from all three of her albums.

The funniest part came when the songstress performed a snippet of Rick Ross’ “Aston Martin Music” and changed the lyrics from “driving” to “walking” and from “baby” to “dog” so the New York City pedestrians could really appreciate it.

(Shouts out to that change-up! The NYC lifestyle is all about walking and a metro card!)

There were also a few gospel songs performed that made it feel like we were church – wasn’t too excited about that part.

Anyway, the order of the songs sung felt like having all her music on shuffle, but live; it was great seeing Chrisette sing “Goodbye Game” and then “Epiphany” and then “Be O.K.”

Also, she looked super-cute. Miss Chrisette wore a beautiful lime-greenish strapless dress, rocked her blonde mini-fro, red lips and killer blue heels! The strapless dress she wore really showed off her back tattoos (yes, she has tats on her back!) The tattoos were of wings on each shoulder blade and, from afar, it looked like an extension of her outfit.

Watch her remix “Aston Martin Music” below!

“Walking to the music, this is how we do it, all night / breezing down the sidewalk, just me and my small dog, looking so fly / just me and my dog, no worries at all / li-i-i-stening to that Aston Martin music, music.”
