Reports are surfacing as rap-mogul Jay-Z staying busy on his solo projects and Kanye West is just days away from welcoming in a newborn daughter, both hip-hop stars are expected to reunite on The Throne.
“Yeah, eventually,” WTT producer Mike Dean told HuffPost Live on Monday. “[They’re] not working on it yet, it’s just talking about it. I actually talked to Jay about it last week. … My lips are sealed. I don’t want to do any spoilers. I’ll let them get all their spoilers themselves.“
Back in March 2012, renowned sound engineer Young Guru spoke on a possible Watch the Throne follow-up.
“It’s definitely a serious consideration. Hasn’t been underway yet but definitely serious consideration. Has been talked about but hasn’t been executed yet. Definitely could happen. A lot of artists just say sh*t too but if you think about it, this is just my opinion, the way I would like it to go-I would like Kanye to do the G.O.O.D. Music album and Jay-Z to do a solo album then they go out and tour and do all that sh*t and then next year, or the end of the year, we get Watch the Throne 2. To me, that would be the best thing to happen. I think the G.O.O.D. Music album is necessary for Kanye to establish that brand because they need to establish [themselves].” (Complex)
