Mia Love becomes not only the first black woman but the first Haitian-american woman to be elected in congress as a Republican. The former mayor of Saratoga Springs, Utah is ready to take on her new position in Washington. Love is pro-life as well as pro-gun and sources say that she plans to take part in joining the Congressional Black Caucus, a Democratic organization.

“I wasn’t elected in Saratoga Springs because of my gender or my heels. I was elected by the people there because I had a plan and a vision to get us financially stable,” Love said.

Things have not always been easy for Love as she has ran before but did not when. This time around she is for sure she won based off of herb her ambitions and game plan and not for her race or sex.
