Dr. Dre dropped some heat this week, “Compton” designed to accompany the well anticipated film, “Straight Outta Compton” in theaters August 14th. Dre has heard much praise after releasing his album as many fans fell in love with the new music. As the album’s popularity continues to grow, you can imagine how much Dr. Dre will bring in on royalties. Sources report that Dre plans to donate all of his royalties from ‘Compton’ to help build an arts center in Compton!

In an interview with Zane Lowe, Dre detailed:

“I decided to donate all the artist royalties from the album for the kids in Compton,” he revealed on Beats 1.

“I’ve been working on something to make this album really special,” Dre continued. Dr. Dre details that he and Compton Mayor Aja Brown both agree that “an arts and entertainment facility” would be the best way to give back to the community and the legendary producer was 100 percent in. Congrats are in order to Dr. Dre for ‘Straight Outta Compton’ and ‘Compton’ soundtrack! How amazing is it that the album is going to help rebuild Compton?
