Extra Butter: Anthony Mackie & Casey Affleck In "Triple 9"

The new thriller Triple 9 hits theaters this Friday and if you like great acting, this one is for you. The movie features a lot of familiar faces, like Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead, Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad, Chiwetel Ejiofor of 12 Years A Slave, Oscar nominee Kate Winslet, and more.

The plot follows a gang of criminals who just so happen to be corrupt cops and ex-military pulling off the biggest heist ever; the only way to do it is to implement a 9 9 9, a strategy you will find out about when you watch the flick. Triple 9 is like Training Day meets The Departed, and filled with great action scenes and a killer story.

Like we always do here on Global Grind’s Extra Butter, we’ve got an exclusive clip. In it, Anthony Mackie – who plays Marcus, a cop on the gang squad – is taking newcomer Chris Allen – played by Casey Affleck – out to show him what it’s like on the mean streets of Atlanta.

Things quickly get out of hand and Chris ends up almost causing a riot. That’s when Marcus has to pull him aside and school him about how things work on the streets.
