Celebrity Sightings In Los Angeles - May 24, 2016

Karrueche is well on her way to the top.

After an awkward run-in with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown earlier this week, Kae forced fans to change the subject with a stunning new spread in Vulkan magazine. Not to mention, she just got word she’ll be starring in TNT’s pilot series Claws, set in a Southern Florida nail salon.

More glo’ed up than ever before, the lighthearted 28-year-old says the acting gig is “God’s work” and “a dream come true!” It’s definitely been a long time coming, so it’s no wonder the unexpected victory nearly induced tears.

“This is a dream come true!” Karrueche wrote on Instagram. “I keep thinking about this project and I want to cry.. To have started my acting career just a few years ago and now here I am. I can’t wait to start this kick ass role as Virginia alongside such an amazing cast,” she said referencing actress Niecy Nash, who will play nail salon owner Desna Simms.

The humble leader of the itty bitty committee is feeling good and looking good. In Vulkan, she’s all about wide-legged pants and oversized sweater dresses – and it works. In the accompanying interview, Kae talks about being starstruck, tattoos, and more.

Here are some interesting excerpts.

On staying grounded despite her fame:

I’ve always reminded myself to stay humble. I never want to allow any amount of fame or money to change the person that I have been.

On her tattoos:

“I have 7 tattoos total. My favorite one is the dragon on my hand. I got it because in Chinese astrology I’m the year of the dragon (year 88). I wanted to get something either on my hand or a full sleeve, and decided to go with the hand. It’s a random tattoo and not on a very common place on the body, but I love it.”

On a time she was starstruck:

The first time I met Pharrell, I was star struck. It was at a recording studio and it was very brief, but I was at a loss for words.

Karrueche’s putting in the work and making a way for herself; you’ve got to respect it. See more from her Vulkan mag spread here.
