The legal battle between Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards and Ayesha Howard, continues to heat up. This time with Howard accusing Edwards of delaying custody proceedings and failing to meet their 8-month-old daughter, Aubri.

Ayesha says Edwards agreed to give her sole custody but has delayed finalizing it, per her June 25 filing. “I haven’t seen him. [Aubri] hasn’t seen him. Never,” she stated. “Whether custody was honestly here or in Mars, I don’t think it would inconvenience him or matter at all.”

A paternity test confirmed Edwards as the biological father earlier this year. Since then, the two have filed competing custody and child support petitions—Howard in California and Edwards in Georgia. Edwards’ team accused Howard of choosing Los Angeles to secure a higher financial award, an allegation she denies.

What’s making things more complicated? Edwards doesn’t want custody, but Howard claims his team still hasn’t filed paperwork to finalize sole custody. Howard says she’s facing “financial harm” since Georgia courts won’t rule on support without finalized custody. As of now, Anthony Edwards has not made any public statements regarding the claims or the court filings. With both sides locked in a jurisdictional tug-of-war, the outcome could set a precedent for cross-state custody battles involving high-profile public figures.

This developing story adds another layer to the public scrutiny facing young NBA players off the court—and fans are watching closely to see how it unfolds.
