When you’re the son of a legendary rapper/producer and one of the forefathers of Rap music, who has been celebrated and respected in his field for more than 20 years, it’s natural that you want to follow in his footsteps.

Dr. Dre, born Andre Romell Young, has paved the way for artists not only from the West Coast, but all over the country. The Hip-Hop icon found something that works, something that fulfills him and something that proves to be important to the world. Curtis Young, son of super producer Dr. Dre, is ready to continue his father’s legacy because it is not only a desire, it is his destiny.

“My world became complete when I finally met my father at the age of 21. I am extremely grateful for my father paving the road for me and many other artists. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to take over a legacy. As a producer, my father has set extremely high standards to existing and upcoming producers all over the globe but my hard and dedicated work will show everyone that I deserve the name Young,” says the aspiring rapper/producer.

Born in Paramount, California, Curtis Young and his mother moved to the city of Compton when he was an adolescent attending elementary school. He grew up in the streets of Compton with dreams of becoming a rap artist. Following on his father’s path, Young established his own independent label, So Hood Records, and immediately acquired several talented newcomers to its growing roster.
