Explosion, Fire Break Out at New Castle Scrapyard

NEW CASTLE, Ind. — Firefighters in New Castle responded to an explosion and large fire at a scrapyard on Friday.

The fire happened at around 8:45 a.m. at Neal Scrap Metals just south of downtown New Castle.

The fire department said they used about 10,000 gallons of water to control the fire.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
