Hip-hop fans in the nation’s capital can now spend a few moments with a pair of rap icons.  Wednesday, June 16th, marked what would have been Tupac Shakur’s 39th birthday.  In celebration of the event, Madame Tussauds is showcasing wax figures of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. in the Glamour Room of their Washington D.C. location.  Biggie’s life-like representation was brought in from New York, while Tupac’s statue arrived from Las Vegas.  The figures will remain in D.C. for the rest of the summer.  A rep for Madame Tussauds tells AllHipHop.com, quote, “Tupac and Biggie are widely recognized as two of the greatest hip-hop artists and rappers of all time.  Their influence on and absence from the hip-hop community can still be felt today – more than a decade after their tragic deaths.”

The one-time rap rivals were at the center of a hip-hop feud that divided rappers on the East Coast and the West Coast.  Their deaths, six months apart, are believed to have been the culmination of that feud.  To date there have been no arrests in the murders of either rapper.
