The big names keep rolling in for the 2010 BET Awards.  On Thursday, the cable network announced that Usher, T-Pain and Alicia Keys will be taking the stage at this year’s ceremony.  Keys will also be honored during the show with a career retrospective that highlights her ten years in the music business.  BET’s President of Music Programming, Stephen Hill, says Keys was a perfect fit for the honor noting, quote, “Alicia’s career mirrors the length of the BET Awards.  It’s our tenth anniversary and she’s been around for ten years, and we are making a note of that.”  It was also announced on Tuesday that rap superstar Eminem will be a performer at this year’s awards.  Stephen Hill says he expects ‘Em to give viewers a great show adding, quote, “Eminem is going to bring the intensity that he always does.  All these previews of his new album have indicated that he is back on fire and we expect him to bring that fire to the BET stage.” 

Eminem, Alicia Keys, T-Pain and Usher will join a list of performers that already includes Ludacris, T.I., Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Drake.  Hosted by Queen Latifah, the 2010 BET Awards will air live from Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium Sunday, June 27th at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
