Simply I have to say that this years BET Awards was by far the BEST ever! It was a well produced show with a lot of heart. Queen Latifah was an excellent host. I hope they have her back next year.

The “real” Michael Jackson tribute that should have been last year happened this year. Heading up the tribute with all the MJ moves and all was none other than Chris Brown. Shocker! The emotional part came at the end when Chris was supposed to sing Man In The Mirror and couldn’t because he literally broke down crying. Was he crying for Jackson, or because the words hit a bit too close to home?
El Debarge! WOW! That dude still has it! Hope he come out with a new album soon.
Nice touch having Todd Bridges (Different Stokes co-star) paying tribute to Gary Coleman.
Congratulations to John Legand for the BET Humanitarian award. Well deserved for everything he does for people around the world.
Trey Songs tribute to Prince was very well done. Never realized how much Trey’s voice sounds like him. Janelle Monae is an artist that will be a household name in the next few years. Her version of Lets Go Crazy was hot. Alicia Keys killed it with her rendition of Adore. Prince was digging it. Never seen a pregnant woman get on top of a piano and do what she did. The Diva herself Patti Labelle did her thing with Purple Rain. Nice!
