A pair of rap superstars are joining forces for a collaboration album. Kanye West took to his twitter account last Friday to announce that he will be dropping a new record with Jay-Z. Kanye writes, quote, “Me and jay bout to drop a 5 song album called ‘Watch the Throne.'” A release date for “Watch the Throne” has not been announced. News of Kanye West and Jay-Z’s new album comes just days after Kanye revealed that he will be releasing a new song every Friday until Christmas. The “Power” rapper is also working on his fifth studio album, which is due in stores in November.
Fans will be able to watch Kanye West perform live when he takes the stage at next month’s MTV Video Music Awards. The ceremony will be hosted by Chelsea Handler and broadcast live from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre on September 12th at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
