The battle between the Apple and the ‘Berry is on. BlackBerry introduced its new PlayBook this week, which some think will pose a threat to Apple’s iPad sales. Nearly 55-percent of those responding to a poll on the technology blog EricTric.com say they think PlayBook will come out on top as the electronic tablet of 2011, while 36-percent foresee iPad remaining dominant. However, those answering a PollDaddy.com survey disagree. Nearly 42-percent call it an “apples to oranges comparison,” because they consider PlayBook “a business device.” However, 13-percent think PlayBook’s appeal will grow, and say based “on specs” it’s already got iPad beat. A quarter of those polled believe PlayBook will outpace iPad, quote, “if it can do both business and pleasure,” while 22-percent won’t offer a prediction but acknowledge, quote, “the tablet competition is heating up.”
