Every February, we unite to honor the vibrant tapestry of Black History, celebrating our roots, breakthroughs, and struggles. Radio One’s Black History Month event is a journey through the incredible stories of our local movers-and-shakers, paying homage to the groundbreaking leaders who inspire us all. This celebration spans across various domains, including entertainment, community activism, pop culture, and civil rights, delving into every aspect that defines Black History.

Throughout the month, Radio One presents a compelling narrative through vignettes and videos that showcase the influential community and business leaders making a difference in Indianapolis. Our focus extends beyond the past, embracing an optimistic outlook on the future.

We are proud to partner with Indianapolis Public Schools, an institution dedicated to providing excellent choices for all students in every school and neighborhood. Starting with the 2024–25 school year, IPS will offer eight educational models, including Dual Language, IB, STEM, and Visual and Performing Arts. Additionally, there are a variety of high schools offering 32 career pathways, opening up a world of opportunities for students.

IPS also stands out with robust Pre-K, before and after school programs, free breakfast and lunch, and classrooms that embrace racial, economic, and linguistic diversity.

As we celebrate the achievements of our community during Black History Month, we invite YOU to Choose Indianapolis Public Schools and explore the educational opportunities they offer.
