In Dan Charnas’s up-coming book, The Big Payback: The History Of The Business Of Hip-Hop, the former magazine editor, record producer, and current InteractiveOne managing editor reveals a little-known truth about the relationship between one of hip-hop’s biggest executives and the late Jam Master Jay.

Legendary DJ Scratch has revealed to AllHipHop.com that he will change his well known moniker to DJ Jam Master Scratch, with the support of founding Run-DMC member, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels.

On Sunday August 30th, RUN DMC and the late Jam Master Jay were honored with a Queens, NY street being renamed in their honor. 205th and Hollis Ave is now known as RUN DMC/ JMJ Way. Bdot over at RapRadar caught the historic moment.
