Alicia Keys is celebrating a milestone. The multi-platinum singer is entering another decade today as she commemorates her 30th birthday. While still young, Keys has already enjoyed a lifetime’s worth of accomplishments in the music industry. She wasted little time making a name for herself, as her 2001 debut album, “Songs in A Minor,” sold more than 12-million copies worldwide and earned her five GRAMMY Awards. Keys would continue to win GRAMMYs and sell millions of records as her next three albums — “The Diary of Alicia Keys,” “As I Am,” and “The Element of Freedom” — were all huge successes. Keys hasn’t kept her talents confined to the recording studio. She’s also starred in films like “Smokin’ Aces,” “The Nanny Diaries” and “The Secret Life of Bees.”
Alicia added yet another role to her resume last year, when she became the wife of hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz. The couple announced their engagement last May and tied the knot in July during a ceremony on the French island of Corsica. Just a few months later the couple became parents, welcoming their son Egypt Daoud Dean into the world on October 14th.
