A Hoosier turned actor is back in town to help students shoot for the stars.

Teenagers at Broad Ripple High School got to hear from award-winning actor and comedian Mike Epps Thursday.

Epps served as keynote speaker for the school’s media magnet program. The Arsenal Technical High School graduate hopes to convince young people in Indianapolis to avoid getting into trouble and to go after their career dreams.

“I’ve once been one of those students before. It’s kind of hard to forget, and now that God has blessed me in these positions, I recognize that a lot of my past and growing up as a student like these students, this is a reflection of what I am now,” said Epps.

Epps participated in a question and answer session with the students after his talk. He comes back to Indianapolis April 9th for a major Comedy Tour at Conseco Fieldhouse.
