Yup. That’s right. Beginning July 1st! Governor Daniels has signed legislation making Indiana the 32nd state to ban texting while driving for all drivers. Police will now be able to ticket drivers with fines UP TO $500.

I’m all for saving lives or prevention of accidents but…I can see this being yet another reason to pull people over. I press a few buttons to make a call…do I get pulled over?

I pick up my phone since I’m utilizing it for GPS to make sure I’m still on route. Will I be out $500 for THAT? I see discretion of the officer and discrepancies taking over. Many people will dispute their tickets. Police will pull text records and privacy will be invaded. What are your thoughts? COMMENT!
