“Thor” hammers the competition for the second week in a row at the North American box office. The Marvel comics 3D film brought in 34-point-five-million dollars over the weekend. The “R” rated women’s comedy “Bridesmaids” did better than expected, coming in at number two by selling 24-point-four-million dollars worth of tickets. “Fast Five” was third with 19-point-five-million dollars in receipts. In fourth place was the action horror movie “Priest,” which did a less than expected 14-point-five-million dollars worth of business. The animated film “Rio” was number five with eight-million dollars in ticket sales.
