The nominees for next month’s ceremony were announced on Tuesday, with Chris picking up a total of six nods.
Brown is up for Best Male R&B Artist and Best Actor, while his hit “Look At Me Now” is nominated for Viewers’ Choice, Video of the Year, and Best Collaboration. His single “Deuces” is also up for Best Collaboration. After receiving the news that he is this year’s leading nominee, Chris sent out a tweet thanking “B.E.T. for all the support.”
Lil Wayne is also poised for a big night at the BET Awards. He picked up five nods, including Best Male Hip-Hop Artist. Kanye West, Drake, Rick Ross, and Rihanna are all nominated for four awards.
The event will be hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, the 2011 BET Awards will air live on Sunday, June 26th at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
