Warner Brothers’ 3D “Green Lantern” earned 52-point-seven million dollars during its first three days of the release, landing it at the low end of expectations.  The film cost a reported 200-million dollars to make.  Coming in at number two was last weekend’s top earner “Super 8,” which pulled in 21-point-three-million dollars.  At number three was Carrey’s family comedy “Mr. Popper’s Penguins,” which earned 18-point-two-million dollars.  Carrey hasn’t had a big hit since 2003’s “Bruce Almighty.”
