Chicago rapper Chief Keef makes headlines again. This time for riding shotgun with a pal driving his car being taken into police custody early today (June 11) for speeding.
This morning (June 11th), around 2:50 a.m., officers clocked a BMW SUV traveling 88 mph on the Edens Expressway, according to police. The driver, Will R. Lauthan, 19, of Chicago, was taken into custody, charged with excessive speeding and released on bond, police say. One of the passengers in the vehicle was Keith Cozart, 17, of Northbrook, also known as the rapper Chief Keef, according to police. Cozart and other passengers did not receive citations, police say.
Last week, 1017 Brick Squad leader Gucci Mane said he hoped artists like Keef would learn from the mistakes he has made.
“I take responsibility for some of that bad stigma that comes from me. A lot of the things I have done, I regret. And a lot of it [I warranted]. A lot of it, it be false claims,” Gucci revealed. “Media take it and make they own assumptions…A lot of things don’t have a lot of truth in them…My advice would be to him [Chief Keef], and any other young guy, is to learn from…try not to do the same thing that I did.“
