Nancy Grace (pictured left) invited self-professed pothead and popular rapper 2 Chainz (pictured) on her HLN show Tuesday in an effort to dismantle the argument for the legalization of marijuana. Instead she got a hip-hop-styled lesson in social justice by the rap artist.

Grace began the show, promoted by Twitter hashtag #Pot2Blame, highlighting a story about a Mom accused of allowing her 2-year-old to smoke pot in a viral video, alongside several other crime examples, to make her point.

But 2 Chainz, also known as Tauheed Epps and Tity Boi, essentially argued that pot is not to blame for the crimes and called on parents to be responsible in raising their children. In addition, he suggested that alcohol abuse and mental health issues — alongside economic hardship — may be factors in the lives of people in the examples cited.

Still, as Grace showed the video of a Mother encouraging her child to smoke weed, 2 Chainz responded, “It’s the same thing we talked about earlier, darling, with the legalization of alcohol, you will find some footage like this. But everybody is not doing this. Some people actually love their child. Some people know that it’s obviously wrong, so this is nothing to really argue about; these people are obviously imbeciles. You can’t use this case to define an entire community.”

When Grace asked to which community he was referring, 2 Chainz hysterically obliged her with the reply: “The stoner community.”

Further, he said he is a proud Father of two daughters and does not allow his children to use caffeine, let alone smoke weed, I have two beautiful girls and I’m a great Father,” he said. “I feel everybody should take care of their own. It’s about governing your own household.”

And the rapper was unfazed when Grace tried to describe him as a bad role model for promulgating booty shakin’ videos, and sexist hip-hop lyrics, “‘Smoking California weed with California whores’ — excuse me, ‘true.’ I left that out,” Grace said. “Truuuue!” 2 Chainz chimed in, using his signature hip-hop echo.
