Don't expect to see a second Obama presidency any time soon. Speaking at a town hall meeting in Louisiana, President Obama told an attendee that there was no chance ? zero ? that First Lady Michelle Obama would jump into the presidential race. "Since yo

The thought of First Lady Michelle Obama residing in the White House as Madam President is the epitome of #BlackGirlMagic, but President Barack Obama informed the nation this week his wife has no plans to run for office.

Obama was discussing his State of the Union address during a town hall in Baton Rouge, La. when he was asked about Michelle’s political aspirations. While he’s proud of what FLOTUS has accomplished during her time as First Lady, he said she isn’t interested in the position.

The Hill reports:

“Since you can’t run again for another turn, is there any way that we as a group can talk the first lady into running,” an attendee who said he is the father of a secret service agent asked.

“No, no, no,” the president continued. “Let me tell you, there are three things that are certain in life: death, taxes and Michelle is not running for president,” he added. “That I can tell you.”

Obama, however, made it clear his wife’s lack of interest in the nation’s highest office isn’t a reflection on her work as the first lady.

“The work she has done around reducing childhood obesity, the work she and Jill Biden have done on military families … I could not be prouder of her and she is going to be very active as an ex-first lady,” Obama said.

The president continued to praise his wife, joking about her youthful appearance in comparison to how much his role as Commander-in-Chief aged him.

Obama said his mother-in-law recently dug up their wedding video and he recalled thinking, “I looked like a teenager. And realized, ‘Boy, I sure have aged.’”

“But Michelle looked identical,” the president said.

Throughout her husband’s two terms in office, Mrs. Obama stayed vigilant about fighting childhood obesity with the Let’s Move campaign, raised awareness against poverty in America, and of course, offered encouragement and support to the Black Girls Rock movement.

The president said her work will continue and he will also pursue criminal justice reform and the promotion of science and math education in America’s schools.
