Legendary boxer Muhammad Ali remains in the hospital fighting a respiratory condition, his team has confirmed. According to Ali’s spokesperson Bob Gunnell, Ali was treated by his team of doctors for a respiratory issue but is now in better condition.
The statement said that “a brief hospital stay is expected” for the 74-year-old icon.
Ali suffers from Parkinson’s disease and has been hospitalized a few times in recent years, with a stay in 2015 due to a urinary tract infection, and in December 2014 for pneumonia.
The boxing and sports world tweeted out their well wishes to The People’s Champion.
It is a relief to hear that Ali is on the road to recovery. Our prayers are with him and his family.
