Welcome to another Thursday! Today is a great day because not only are we over the hump of the work week, but unlike every other day, today is Three Stacks Thursday. This means that we are going to tell you about a few cool things that you can do around town if you have no budget at all.

For those of you who have already experienced college life you know that Thursdays are widely considered “Thirsty Thursdays” and with St. Patrick’s Day this weekend we decided that maybe it was time to visit a few beer museums in today’s edition of Dollars & Sense. Check it out below.

Visit The Guinness Storehouse in Dublin

Okay, this one isn’t actually a brewery, but it once was and you can definitely get some beer while you are here. This six story building was built in 1904 and is now one of the biggest tourist attractions when visiting Ireland. The building is designed around a pint glass-shaped atrium and incorporates a retail store, exhibition space, function rooms, a restaurant and two bars.

One of the most memorable sections of the building is the advertising section. It’s a testament to the company’s famously imaginative marketing. The Storehouse tour includes a complimentary pint of the best Guinness you are likely to get, and there’s nowhere better to drink it than in the Gravity Bar, at the very top of the building. This circular bar has a 360-degree window and offers the kind of spectacular view over Dublin that makes the €15 entrance fee worthwhile.

Visit The Sapporo Beer Museum in Japan

The Sapporo Beer Museum dates back about 130 years and is a unique museum of beer in Japan.

The first beer brewing in Japan, originated in 1876 in Sapporo, was conducted under Hokkaido Development Agency, from the advice of its hired foreign experts who happened to find natural hops in Sapporo.

While visiting the museum you can learn the history and technology of the first, oldest beer brewery along with the development of Hokkaido.

After going through the exhibit, you can do a tasting of the draft beer fresh from the beer brewery. In the same site, Sapporo Beer Garden is open for you to taste the fresh beer and enjoy some Mongolian barbecue.

Financial Tip Of The Day

Pack Light

Warm weather is here and it is undoubtedly a time when we are all traveling more frequently. Make sure you bring only the essentials when packing your bags because airlines are now charging astronomical fees. On most international flights some airlines are charging up to $450 for a bag weighing 71-100 pounds. Save yourself the extra fee and pack only what you need and if you need extra, spread it out between bags.
