Dreams really do come true…

Zaxby’s is set to open its first Greater Cincinnati location in Liberty Township. The popular fried chicken chain will be a 56-seater with a drive-thru. The restaurant will be part of the Freedom Pointe development, situated next to Costco on Cox Road.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Zaxby’s carries over 900 locations across 17 states, primarily in the South and Midwest. The chain is known for its crispy chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches, and hearty salads. The nearest Zaxby’s locations are currently about an hour away in Shelbyville, IN and Louisville, KY. The return of Zaxby’s to Ohio comes 16 years after the closure of its Columbus location.

Initially planned as a hotel, the Freedom Pointe development will also include three other eateries: popular Asian fusion E+O Kitchen, Bismarck Donut and Coffee Shop, and Mexican franchise El Rancho Grande.

Christy Gloyd, Liberty Township’s marketing and events manager spoke with the Cincinnati Enquirer on the development.

“We’re just really excited to be growing over there at Freedom Pointe… Having Costco as the anchor is huge. Just to have another family-friendly restaurant and have the variety – to have the Zaxby’s and E+O and El Rancho Grande – I think it’s really going to be a nice offering for our residents.”

Liberty Township trustees recently approved the plan for the new Zaxby’s at Freedom Pointe, and construction is expected to begin this summer.
