Leon Thomas Unveils Major Collaborations for Deluxe Edition of ‘MUTT’
Fans of Leon Thomas’s 2024 album MUTT have something exciting to look forward to: the singer-producer confirmed that a deluxe edition of the project is on its way, and it’s going to feature some major collaborations that are sure to elevate the already impressive body of work.
During an interview on BBC Radio 1Xtra on Tuesday, February 25, Thomas revealed that he’s been busy “doing some mixes” for the expanded version of MUTT, and it seems the project will be packed with fresh, highly anticipated features from some of the biggest names in music today.
“I got some really cool features with old friends that, you know, the world loves,”
Thomas teased, building anticipation for what’s to come.
One of the most exciting revelations was his collaboration with none other than Kehlani.
The two have teamed up for a “really great song,” according to Thomas, and fans can expect nothing short of magic from the collaboration.
“It’s really, really tight,” he said, sending a clear message that this track will be one of the standout moments on the deluxe version.

But that’s not all—Leon Thomas also teased a partnership with the multi-talented Big Sean.
The duo has been working together on “some stuff,” and Thomas couldn’t contain his excitement, saying he’s “really excited about that.”
And if that weren’t enough, Thomas is also joining forces with the incredible Halle Bailey, calling her “amazing” and promising that their collaboration will be a highlight of the project.

As the conversation continued, Thomas hinted that there are even more features in the works.
However, he remained tight-lipped about who they might be, as he’s still “waiting on their stems” before making any official announcements.
The anticipation continues to grow, but one thing is certain—Leon Thomas is bringing out the big guns for the deluxe edition of MUTT.
A notable shift in this deluxe version is Thomas’s emphasis on bringing more female voices to the forefront.
The original MUTT album, while featuring some heavy-hitters like Masego, Wale, Ty Dolla $ign, Freddie Gibbs, and Axl Folie, only had one female collaborator, Baby Rose, on the track “I USED TO.”
Thomas is clearly aiming to change that by “getting the ladies involved,” signaling a shift toward a more inclusive and diverse sound.

While the details about how many new tracks will be added to the deluxe edition remain under wraps, fans are eagerly speculating about how much additional content will arrive.
Earlier this month, Thomas made a memorable appearance at NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, where he revisited some of MUTT’s standout tracks, including “VIBES DON’T LIE,” “YES IT IS,” and, of course, the title track.
It’s clear that the MUTT era is far from over, and the deluxe edition promises to take this chapter of his career to new heights.
