UPDATE:DDG and Family Respond to Halle Bailey’s Abuse Allegations
UPDATE: DDG and His Family Kinda Respond to Halle Bailey’s Abuse Claim

By now, you’ve probably seen the headlines: Halle Bailey has filed a restraining order against DDG, accusing him of abuse during their two-year relationship. The Little Mermaid star claims she suffered physical, emotional, verbal, and financial abuse at the hands of the rapper. Court docs are graphic—Bailey says DDG once slammed her face into a steering wheel hard enough to chip her tooth. She also alleges he sent threatening messages and weaponized his social media following, resulting in online harassment.
As part of the restraining order, DDG must stay at least 100 yards away from both Bailey and their 16-month-old son, Halo. A court hearing is set for June 6, and Bailey is also asking for sole legal and physical custody, citing serious safety concerns.
So, how’s DDG responding? Well… kind of vaguely.
The rapper hopped on a livestream where he looked visibly upset and ended it early. He said things like, “Practicing what I preach. Just stand on my sick,” and added, “We live if I said it was 100%.” He also made it clear that anyone being “nosy” might as well leave. Not exactly a clear denial.
His brother also chimed in on his own stream, saying, “Do you think my brother is dumb enough to put his hands on a movie star?” A bold statement, sure—but not a rebuttal to the actual claims.
Meanwhile, chatter online is growing. Some have tried to flip the narrative, questioning if Bailey might’ve been the abuser—a claim with no evidence. Bailey, however, has reportedly submitted photos of her injuries and is seeking full protection through the courts.
DDG’s family, including his mom and sister, have made comments teasing that they’ll “break their silence,” but so far it’s just been more vague posts and subtweets. If they plan to speak, the public is asking: just say it already.
The clock is ticking toward June 6. Until then, the internet will keep speculating—and DDG’s silence is only getting louder.
