Jaheim, the voice behind early 2000s R&B classics like “Put That Woman First”, is facing serious legal trouble once again — this time in Atlanta.

On May 1, the New Jersey native was arrested and hit with six counts of animal cruelty after authorities say he neglected six dogs at a property he was responsible for.

Reports allege the dogs were left in poor living conditions without proper water, clean space, or ventilation. The breeds included four pit bulls, a French bulldog, and a hound mix.

Jaheim was released the next day, but this arrest brings back painful memories for some animal lovers.

Just three years ago, he was charged in New Jersey with a similar situation involving fifteen dogs.

At that time, officers said they found several animals starved, including one in such bad shape it had to be put down. The rest were rescued and later put up for adoption.

The singer has yet to make a public statement, but many fans are disappointed and heartbroken, especially considering the previous incident. Some have taken to social media calling for accountability, while others are hoping the singer gets the help he clearly needs.

Jaheim hasn’t released new music since Struggle Love dropped in 2016, though he did hit the road last year for the Love Hard Tour alongside Keyshia Cole, Trey Songz, and K. Michelle.

Once known for his powerful vocals and heartfelt lyrics, Jaheim’s legacy now risks being overshadowed by these repeated legal issues.

While folks may remember him for love songs and soulful hooks, these headlines are a reminder that even our favorites need to be held accountable—especially when it comes to the voiceless.

We’ll be watching closely to see how this unfolds.
