Indiana Fever Stars Return After Injuries

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Fever Guard Caitlin Clark is set to play in Saturday’s game after she missed five games because of a quad injury.
The Indiana Fever says Clark has been out since May 24th with a left quad strain. Clark says she is excited to return.
“I think the hardest part is when you begin to feel really good, and it’s just a process of working yourself back out there with my teammates,” Clark says.
Clark says while she has been out, she has learned a lot.
“It was certainly a learning opportunity, and I think it’s going to benefit me a lot throughout my career,” Clark says. “I am super excited and antsy to get back out there.”
Clark says as a point guard, it’s important give teammates grace by helping them out on the court as much as she can.
Fever shooting guard Sophie Cunningham will also return after being out for two weeks with an ankle injury.
With both players coming back in after being out, Fever head coach Stephanie White says it’s kind of like starting over.
The Indiana Fever lost to the Atlanta Dream 77-58 in Atlanta Tuesday night. The Fever are now 4-5 of the season. The Liberty are the defending champions of the WNBA, and they are 9-0.
The Fever take on the New York Liberty Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis. The tipoff is at 3 p.m.
