Pacers Add Kam Jones & Taelon Peter in NBA Draft
Back at it again—Pacers reloading for next season!
Just days after the Pacers wrapped up one of the most electric playoff runs in franchise history, they got right back to business during the 2025 NBA Draft. And while Indiana didn’t have a first-round pick, don’t sleep—they made some serious second-round moves.

With the 38th pick, the Pacers agreed to acquire Kam Jones, a 6’3” guard out of Marquette, via trade with San Antonio. Jones was that guy in college—averaging 19.2 points, 4.5 boards, and nearly 6 assists as a senior. He also became just the second player in Marquette history to hit 2,000 career points. Smooth with the rock and efficient on the floor, he shot 47.5% from the field and nearly 37% from three. And yes—he told ESPN, “I’m just ready to get to Naptown and get to work.” Love that.
Then at pick 54, the Pacers selected Taelon Peter out of Liberty University. This 6’4” bucket from Arkansas averaged 13.7 points and led the entire nation in true shooting percentage last season (.724). That’s not a typo. Peter’s a sniper who can flat-out score, and he won Conference USA’s Sixth Man of the Year.
Two new dogs in the Blue & Gold kennel, and they’re hungry.
Let’s get it, Indy. The reload has officially begun.
