The Hotsheet: Fever Lose; Mayor Pushes Curfew Proposal
Caitlin Clark Returns, Fever Fall at Home
The Indiana Fever couldn’t secure the win on their home court Wednesday afternoon. The final score 80–61 losing to the Golden State Valkyries at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. It was Caitlin Clark’s first game back after missing time with an injury. The Fever struggled to find rhythm, shooting just 31% from the floor. Although, Kelsey Mitchell led with 12 points, but Indiana couldn’t hold off Golden State’s second-half surge.
Indy Mayor Supports Curfew Change
Indianapolis is reeling after a deadly mass shooting downtown over the weekend. Leaving two teenagers dead and five others injured, all under the age of 21. In response, Mayor Joe Hogsett is supporting a new proposal from the City-County Council to expand curfew hours for minors across the city.
The mayor said the proposed change is aimed at maintaining public safety and restoring order, mainly after IMPD recovered 20 firearms from the scene—some reportedly in the hands of kids as young as 13. The proposal was introduced at Monday’s council meeting and is expected to gain momentum in the coming weeks as leaders push for accountability and youth protection.
