5 Shot on Indy’s Northeast Side; 2nd Indy Mass Shooting in July

INDIANAPOLIS – According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, five people were shot in a housing development on the northeast side of Indianapolis Sunday afternoon.
IMPD and medical personnel arrived on Hornickel Drive, which is the Deer Run subdivision off East 38th Street between North County Line Road and North German Church Road, before 4:15 p.m.
Officers found one of the victims at the scene, and reported the victim was awake and breathing.
Sometime after the shooting, four of the victims went to hospitals on their own.
One man is in critical condition, and the other four people are stable.
Officers have not figured out the cause of the shooting, but they say they are not searching for any suspects.
Police say this is Indy’s second mass shooting this month. You may remember the mass shooting on July 5th after midnight in downtown Indianapolis. Two people were killed, five people were injured, and four people were arrested.
