Body Found in Drainage Ditch in Greenwood

The Greenwood Police Department has launched an investigation into the discovery of a dead, unidentified body found in a drainage ditch on Friday.

GREENWOOD, Ind. — A body was found in a drainage ditch in Greenwood on Friday.

The Johnson County Coroner’s office said a person noticed the body while walking near the ditch at Swartz Crossing and State Road 135.

An autopsy is planned for Monday. The coroner’s office is currently working to confirm the gender and age of the person.

The Greenwood Police Department has not released any other information at this time.
