” Paulding County woman was recovering in the hospital Friday after being bitten by a brown recluse spider. Victoria Franklin spent 11 days in a coma and woke up to learn she had an infection and her left breast had to be removed. “I’ve always joked and told people my house was built on a spider hill, because that’s all I would find. In my kitchen, my downstairs, spiders in my guest bathroom, in my garage, everywhere it would be spiders,” said it Franklin. Franklin said she never thought one of those spiders would land her in a coma for 11 days. It wasn’t until Franklin woke up in the hospital that nurses told her that she had lost her left breast because of a brown recluse or violin spider. The 51-year-old Paulding County woman said she had no idea she had been bitten and only noticed lumps on her breast a week after Easter Sunday. Over the next three days Franklin said she was nauseous and vomiting, and then the pain and the smell started to become unbearable.” – 5 News
