One of the biggest buzzes in the music industry has been from Toronto Canada emcee Drake. Since the “So Far Gone” mixtape took off nationally with the success of “Best I Ever Had” it seems like Drake can do no wrong. So here we are June 2010 and Drake’s album will be coming out on June 15th 2010 everywhere and the big question in everyone’s mind is “Will He Sell?”

Now when you receive such critical acclaim and you have Kanye and Lil Wayne backing and supporting your career there would seem to be a little pressure to do well. Some expect Drake to put up Emimem, 50 Cent and Wayne numbers in the first week. Even with the “Digital Era” as crazy as it is that’s pretty big to think a new artist first album will sell 1 million copies in the first week.

However let’s not be fooled here. Label’s will buy copies of albums to assure at least mild success. You hear artist and executives across the world saying “Sales are dead” “We aren’t moving as many units as predicted” so on and so forth however some artist don’t seem to be complaining as much as others. Now I will say that I have heard some of what is expected to be on Drake’s album titled “Thank Me Later” on Youtube.com and on the radio and I must say it doesn’t sound bad at all! I will definitely be in some Best Buy for New Tuesday to cop it. It’s what I expected to hear from him and when you meet expectations its always worth a purchase

Do you think that will be needed for Drake’s debut? What do you expect to happen? Are you going to actually buy it?
