50 Cent is showcasing his softer side.  According to E! News, “Fif” recently registered to be a bone marrow donor.  The emcee was inspired to lend a helping hand after learning that eleven-year-old Shannon Tavarez — who stars in Broadway’s “The Lion King” — was diagnosed with leukemia in April.  Fifty Cent explains, quote, “My son is just a couple years older than Shannon and I can’t imagine if his life was needlessly cut short when there is someone out there that could save him.”  He adds, quote, “A complete stranger is the only person who can give Shannon a fighting chance to live.”  Fifty has registered with DKMS, the largest bone marrow center in the world, and recently shot a PSA while going through the registration process.  During the clip he looks at the camera and tells viewers, quote, “Look, I just did it and you could do it, too.”

Fifty Cent stars in the new movie “Twelve,” which opened over the weekend.  The film, which features 50 playing a drug dealer, also stars Chace Crawford and Rory Culkin.
