Families might be surprised by the salary a mother could earn if she were paid for all she does. If you are a mom you might be able to use this info as bribery next year.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates a mom’s salary would be about sixty-one-thousand-dollars a year if her family had to pay professionals to do similar tasks.  About 20-thousand dollars of that amount would be for taking care of the children based on what child care workers typically make.  The bureau’s Mother’s Day Index for 2011 also includes estimated costs for other everyday mom tasks like cooking, cleaning, driving kids to various activities and helping with homework.  It also covers things like planning parties, taking care of minor injuries and illnesses, arranging kids’ summer activities and paying bills.
